The Late Felix Kaweesi’s Widow Has Given Birth At Nakasero Hospital

The widow of slain Ugandan Assistant Inspector General of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, has given birth at Nakasero Hospital, two days after her husband was laid to rest.

“The wife of our fallen Statesman, Annet Kaweesi, has given birth to a bouncing baby this Thursday morning,” Kampala Metropolitan Police tweeted, without giving details.

Kaweesi, 43, was gunned down on Friday together with his driver and bodyguard in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb.

The trio was leaving Kaweesi’s home for work.

The murders were executed in a professional style with gunmen, who are said to have been riding on motorbikes (boda boda), spraying almost 50 bullets on the police boss’ car, killing the occupants on the spot.

KAWEESI’S KILLERS

Investigations into the shocking incident are ongoing with President Yoweri Museveni saying the authorities will find and kill Kaweesi’s killers.

Kaweesi is survived by a widow and four children.

While eulogising her husband, Annete said she will not be able to provide answers to her young children who will at some point seek to know their father’s whereabouts.

“Some of my children are too young and cannot understand what is going on now. I know they will ask questions in the future which I will have no answers to,” she said.
