Set to launch next month in India, the phone will run Series 30 OS and will pack a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 0.3-megapixel front and rear cameras and a removable 1020mAh battery. There’ll also be a dual-sim version of the device.

full list of specs and features for new Nokia:

  • 118 x 50 x 13.5 mm
  • 6 g
  • 4 inch, 240 x 320 resolution, LCD display
  • Front Camera with flash
  • Rear camera, CMOS sensor, LED Flash
  • 1020mAh Battery

The announcement of the new Nokia 216 device is certainly an interesting turn of events.

Earlier this year, Microsoft sold its feature phone business to Foxconn subsidiary FIH Mobile for $350 million, following reports Nokia might start manufacturing Android devices.

Since then, rumors have suggested Microsoft might be working on a new Surface Phone for launch in 2017.

As Engadget has remarked, this might very well be the last ever Microsoft-crafted Nokia device – it’s just a shame it looks so 2002. The Nokia 216 is expected to hit the stores on October 24. It will be priced at $37.
