MPS To Ban Law Pre-Entry Exams In Public Universities

The banning of pre- entry exams for the admission of Bachelors of Law in public university was recommended by the he Legal and Parliamentary Affairs committee.

And now the members of parliament have approved the recommendation of scarping pre-entry exams.

Mps claim that the banning of these exams will give room to the many students to train in the legal practice hence enabling many Ugandans easy access to legal services.

According to the committee’s chairman Jacob Oboth Oboth he said that the quality of lawyers is not determined at pre-entry but at the centre.

He further said that they discussed with Law Development Centre (LDC) and they didn’t have any problem with its scrapping.

Defense minister Adolf Mwesige supporeted the banning of law pre-entry exams

He said: ““We seem to be punishing our children so much subjecting them to so much. “
