Nalufenya Prison Is Not Torturing As People Imagine-Says Police Committee

Police a lot of pressure from both the concerned natives and human rights activists to close Nalufenya prison based in jinja over allegations of torture.

Having faced that much pressure, the new IGP okoth formed a committee of seven members to investigate the allegation.

The committee was spearheaded by the police human rights director Mr. Erasmus Twaruhukwa

According to reliable sources, the chosen committee praised the nalufenya facility for treating its suspects well.They also highlight that there is no evidence that any suspect has ever been tortured from Nalufenya.

Despite some prisoners were found being treated at the facilty, the committee said that were taken to the facility with those injuries.

The special committee was constituted last week on Wednesday after PAC resolved to send a team out and assess the operations of the facility. On Thursday, the team visited the facility and later sat to make a report.
