Speaking at the final meeting with sponsors at the City hall, executive director Jennifer Musisi said this year’s carnival will run for two days.

She said the pre-event on Saturday will attract all the big names among Kampala rally racers.

Ms Musisi said KCCA has beefed up security, with more than 6,000 personnel deployed to handle goons planning to disrupt the multi-million budget event.

“They are already on the ground watching, so don’t try to do anything doggy,” said Ms Musisi, adding that all the city’s feeder roads will be blocked to ensure people enjoy the events without disruption from the traffic.

According to her, the revelers will also have access to free wifi.

“Those within the gazzeted areas during the carnival will have free internet,” she said.

The event will climax on Sunday, beginning at 9am and closing at 11.59pm.
