50-Year-Old Man Charged for Threatening To Kill 32 Year Old Woman, She ‘Ate’ His Ush400k Fare

A 50 year old man identified as Mecha Joel has been sued for threatening to kill a 32 year old woman who rejected his advances.

Mecha was arraigned at Kibera Law courts and charged after allegedly issuing death threats to Gacheri Bessy who ate her Ksh11,000 ( equivalent to UGX400,000 ) he gave her.

According to reports from Nairobi news, Gacheri ate Ksh10,000 meant for rent and another Ksh1,000 the middle-aged man sent her for accepting a cheque he issued.

Intense feelings of romantic love

Mecha allegedly later made several phone calls to the lady during the night expressing his intentions to date her.

However, he irritated the complainant who works as a cashier, something that forced her to block him, though he kept on calling using different numbers.

After following her without success, the man, in the company of a church-mate, visited her house and asked her to be his girlfriend.

The young lady rejected his proposal citing his age.

After trying all ways to have her and failed, Mecha resorted to intimidating her

“On August 3, 2021, at an unknown place within the republic of Kenya you uttered the words ‘nitakutoa kichwa au mototo wako apotee‘ (I will remove your head or ensure your child gets lost ) to the complainant, words that have been interpreted as death threats,” the charge sheet read, as reported by K24 TV.

Mecha denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of KSh 15,000 by Senior resident magistrate Mwaniki Charles. The case will be mentioned on 6th September 2021.
