6 Armed Robbers Subjected To 230 Years In Prison For Robbing Petrol Station

6 armed robbers who attacked the Compass Oleum filling station in Accra Ghana have shockingly been subjected to 230 years in prison.

The lawbreakers, Awu Philip, Avorkah Kofi, Mensah Ebenezer, Dotsey Hebron, Ahiabli Paul and Elolo Dogbatsa, faced 2 charges of conspiracy to commit an offense to wit robbery and robbery, whilst their abettor, Sewordzi Torgbi, was charged with abetment of crime to wit robbery.

Reports from Graphic.com.ng indicates that 2 men robbed the petrol station 3 years ago, shot the station manager, stole $5,000 and a motorcycle.

Court further made the final judgment on Friday, 23rd October. All the six armed robbers were found guilty after full hearing by the Ho Circuit Court. The criminals disappeared, but were later apprehended from their hiding places.

One armed robbers was given 50 years jail sentence

In the course of interrogation, the armed robbers denied their involvement in the criminal offense. The court gave each convict 30 years imprisonment on each count and they will run simultaneously.

On the other hand, one of the convicts identified as Sewordzi Torgbi, was given 50 year jail sentence. He was the masterminded of the robbery. The magistrate recounts Torgbi as a very dangerous man who is probably not fit to be in the society.

In another news story earlier published by Newslex Point, a refugee who is a Congolese national was arrested on offences of murder after stabbing his colleague at Kisenyi Township in Central Division, Kampala City.

Both Congolese refugees had a misunderstanding over a piece of soap.

Its alleged that one only known as Kasanavo Capeche went to a restaurant where INYATI MULAGA CLAUDIA works and grabbed a piece of soap to use.

When he got annoyed, the Congolese national grabbed a knife and stabbed Kasanova, who died instantly.

The community consequently arrested Mulaga and handed him over to the police. Police detained Mulaga at Old Kampala Police Station on murder charges.

The police took the body of the deceased to city mortuary for postmortem. The Detectives also recovered two knives with suspected blood stains from the scene.
