Aronda Nyakairima Uganda’s internal minister dies within a transit in Dubai

Aronda ’s death was confirmed by the spokes person of government Ofwono OPondo, saying that the deceased was on duty from South Korea and coming back to Uganda through Dubai where he was stricked by a heart attack within the transit and died.

Who is Aronda Nyakairima?

Born in 7 July 1959, in Rukungiri District. He went to Makerere University attaining A degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political science, but immediately after the University, he joined the National Resistance Army in 1982. He attended the Basic Officers Course in 1989 at the Uganda Military Academy. He later attended a course in Strategic Studies in US Army Command & General staff college. He had further studies in the Egyptian Military College offering a course of the senior military. He was a Married man, an Anglican by religion, and lived in Buziga, Kampala district. He died in September 2015.

Aronda was the Chief of Defense Forces, the highest military rank in the Uganda People’s Defense Force, from 2003 to 2013. And later became the Minister of Internal Affairs in July 2013.
