Besigye Is Being Accused Of Being A Public Nuisance – Winnie Byanyima

Winnie Byanyima has said her husband is being accused of being a public nuisance. Apparently, this is what she was told when she went to visit him in prison.

Byanyima used her social media platforms to communicate this message.

“Visited my partner ⁦@kizzabesigye1⁩ at Murchison Bay, Luzira Prison. He looks well and his spirit is strong. I asked why he wasn’t at Upper Prison where he is a frequent guest, they said he has a smaller crime – of being a public nuisance!”

Dr. Kizza Besigye has been in Prison for over four weeks now after they arrested for apparently trying to cause havoc in the city. Besigye was walking in protest of the high commodity and fuel prices in the country.

According to him, government was not doing enough to deal with this situation and yet a number of people were suffering. Unfortunately up until now, whatever he was protesting against is still going on.

However, the prices have only climbed higher and currently fuel prices are above 6000. As government promised indeed, they have done nothing about it.

Slowly people have also stopped talking about it and have learned to live within their means

Meanwhile, most people concentrated on Byanyima’s message on the part of her calling her husband a partner.

Looks like most of the people were not comfortable with it and they didn’t like it.

“Call him your lovely husband please as a sign of respect. He married you and you owe him maximum respect and treasurer. This is biblically demanded from you to us men. Kindly live by example cos you are quite an educated and well-informed lady,” a one Mukasa Joseph.

Most of the people simply wanted to know why it is so difficult for Byanyima to call Besigye husband. Some took it a notch higher saying probably even not taking Besigye’s name was intentional.
