Black American Woman Accused Of Refusing To Return Over Shs4 Billion Mistakenly Deposited In Her Bank Account

A black American woman identified as Kelyn Spadoni from Lousiana USA has found herself in trouble after refusing to return over UGX4 billion that was mistakenly deposited in her bank account.

The costly mistake reportedly happened in February 2021. However, since then, the lady has ignored every call, texts and email from the bank. Somethng that prompted the bank to involve authorities.

Spadoni, a 911 emergency response dispatcher quickly bought a house and a Tesla. This was on the same day she saw the money reflecting on her bank account.

Her brokerage firm, Charles Schwab, is demanding that she returns the full amount because the money was mistakenly sent to her due to a software glitch.

The company meant to send Spadoni UGX 298,600, but the bank ended up wiring more than UGX 4 Billion to her account due to a software issue.

The company has since taken the young lady to court and charged her for refusing to return money.

They argue she had from the onset signed a contract that said clients should return overpayment funds to the company.

“She has no legal claim to that money even if the bank put in there by mistake. It was an accounting error,” said the spokesperson for the Jefferson Parish sheriff’s office.

The police arrested Spadoni on April 7 and released her on a UGX543,070,000 bond.

On top of that, the firm has also repossessed the house and car she bought. Furthermore, they expect her to completely pay back the full overpayment or risk years in prison.

Additionally, the black American woman has also lost her job as a 911 emergency dispatcher.
