Buganda Prime Minister Dismisses Tribal Links To Kyagulanyi’s Victory in Buganda

Buganda Prime Minister, Peter Mayiga has dismissed all the tribal links to Kyagulanyi’s victory in Buganda. He said there are so many issues in Buganda that led to Kyagulanyi’s victory in the region.

“I go to Buganda deep in the villages, the poverty is so much, young people are unemployed. There are programs but they are not benefiting them because they are haphazardly implemented. Corruption is also on the rampage”. He said.

The Buganda Prime Minister also added that any one bringing the tribal talk on table has their own interests and intentions. However, just before elections, Buganda twitter page posted something on their handle encouraging people to vote a person who knows the norms and traditions of Buganda. One who has Buganda at heart.

“Mwasuze Mutya Abaami n’Abazaana ba Kabaka. Ebula Olunaku lumu lwokka Okulonda kutuuke. Bwoba olonda Soosowaza oyo atya kabaka, ategeera ensonga za Buganda, akiika embuga era amanyi ennono n’Obuwangwa bwa Buganda.”

Many people interpreted that as Buganda kingdom indirectly campaigning for Kyagulanyi. It got so serious that the Kingdom officials pulled down the post.

The Katikiro said people voted for Bobi Wine in many other areas, why is Buganda a big deal.

“People voted for Kyagulanyi in the east and in many areas. They should first explain why they elected Kyagulanyi in Kadaga’s constituency. That is cheap talk, but in any case, Ankole voted for Museveni.”

If indeed its tribalism as people say, then probably every one is guilty because almost every candidate has high scores from places of their origin.
