Otieno is charged with killing Ms Adhiambo Eunice in the compound of her current husband’s rented house in Soweto Estate, Nairobi on 12th October.

Adhiambo and Otieno were husband and wife who had three kids in their marriage, but later parted ways after two of their children died. Eunice decided to get married elsewhere, and went with her child aged two years.

According to police, this businessman went to Eunice’s new husband identified as Oloo Eric demanding for his possessions from his former wife, which he alleged she ran away with. A serious dispute happened between them as a result.

During a serious quarrel at Eric’s house, some neighbours came in to rescue only to find Otieno collecting some household goods including the mattress he was claiming to be his.

One of the neighbours and Eric’s custodian suspected that Eunice’s ex-husband wanted to draw her out of her new husband’s house to cause harm on her.

In the process, Eunice left and Otieno followed her as the neighbor stepped back to pick up his jacket, whilst the custodian was quickly locking up the house to go after them, on reaching the compound, Otieno grabbed and grappled her to the ground before cutting her with a sharp knife.

After the heinous act, Otieno dropped the bloodstained knife before taking off.

Eunice was rushed to the nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. This evil man was arrested at his rented room in  Kayole Estate.

Otieno was arraigned in court, but denied charges before magistrate Pondo Merisa. He was released on bond of Ksh200,000. Court hearing will commence on 10th 2020.
