Campaigns Get Sower As Bobi Wine and Journalists Spend Night In The Cold

Campaigns have gotten sower for presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine after he spent the whole night in the cold along the road side in his car. Presidential hopeful, was allegedly denied access to any hotel by DPC of Nakasongola, Patience Namara.

Bobi Wine said they were traveling to Kyakwanzi via Hoima but found the road blocked by the police who claimed it was under construction.

Kyagulanyi and his entourage therefore decided to get a hotel where they would spend a night. Unfortunately, to their surprise no hotel was willing to check them in.

When they tried talking to the DPC , apparently she told them to spend the night by the road side if the want to.

She further instructed them leave by 6:00am in the morning. Journalists were caught up in this mess too. Most of them who didn’t have cars found themselves sleeping on tarmac with jackets as their beddings.

Some journalists rub it to their social media handles saying journalism has just gotten real. They post pictures of their fellows sleeping on tarmac.

“Journalism just got real.
Assigned to cover a candidate’s Campaign, you can not afford to let him out of your sight, lest you miss out on a good story. Tonight, some of our colleagues that couldn’t get a car to sleep in are sleeping on the tarmac in Migera.” Daniel Lutaaya od NBS Posted.

The Silence from Electoral Commission

This is very absurd if it is as true as told. The fairness and transparency is lost if a presidential candidate can’t exercise his rights.

The electoral commission is in charge of these candidates until the announcement of the winner. If they are quiet about this, then something must really be wrong somewhere.
