Covid Death Toll In Uganda Stands At 2,605 As Of July 29th-2021

The covid-19 death toll in the country has hit 2,605 as 15 other Ugandans have succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. The Ministry of Health on Wednesday confirmed 327 new cases from 4,346 samples that were tested on July 26.

This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 93,122 from 1,458,646 total samples that have been tested so far.

Statistics from the Ministry of Health also confirmed 1,389 new recoveries raising the country’s cumulative recoveries to 79,804. These figures are from back in 2020 from the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

Uganda has given a total of 1,135,916 vaccine doses against covid-19. There are 620 Ugandans are on admission in health units across the country.

In regards to new cases, 103 are from Kampala, 14 from Arua and Kumi each, Wakiso has 13 new cases, and 11 from Moyo. More still, they registered 10 new cases in Kabale, Soroti, Oyam, Nebbi, and Gulu, all have 8 new cases. Among other districts.

They also confirmed a total of 4 truck drivers with 3 from Kyotera and 1 from Tororo.

As the president addresses the nation on Friday, 30 July, 2021, many hope that he will lift the lockdown.

However, with these numbers, it is quite hard to determine whether he will really lift the lockdown.

However, with the death toll at 2,605, and the virus still spreading, there is more to expect.
