Deputy Mayor Nyanjura Doreen’s Brother Shot Dead In Ntinda

Tugume Albert Cook, a brother to the deputy Lord mayor of Kampala, Nyanjura Doreen has been shot dead in a mobile money theft that went wrong. This unfortunate incident happened in Ntinda around Friends Industries.

It’s been reported that Tugume happened to be closing his mobile money kiosk when these goons attacked him. He tried to run away with his bag of money and entered a corridor around his premises. This was where he met his death as the thieves fired bullets after him that took his life.

It wasn’t only him that lost his life. A Boda Boda rider who tried to come to his rescue and stop the robbery was also shot. A woman who was standing by also sadly earned a bullet. The two sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital where they reportedly lost their lives.

By the time of this story, Police had already cordoned off the crime scene but Tugume’s body was still around in the corridor. Kampala metropolitan spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigire confirmed this tragic incident. He assured the public that further details will be communicated.

Nyanjura Doreen through her X page confirmed the death of her brother. At first she reported it as an abduction but later confirmed that he had been murdered.

“My brother Tugume Albert Cook has been abducted on gun point from Central Road, Ntinda Kigowa road. One person has been shot dead. He operates a mobile money shop,” she said before writing that “My brother has been killed.”

This is still a developing story and we shall keep you updated as more details come in.
