Security Minister Elly Tumwine Says He Does Not Support Multiparty Politics

Minister for Security Gen. Elly Tumwine says he does not support multiparty politics because the promoters preach message of propaganda that discredit ruling government.

“I do not support multipartism because people who subscribe to this ideology only promote negative things about the ruling government,” Tumwine said.

Elly Tumwine who was speaking at the media security meeting in Kampala, cautioned journalists to always take personal security measures in their day-to-day operations so that they do not fall victims of arrests and defend government so as not to jeopardize on security matters.

“security starts with you therefore do not expect any other personal to take care of your security. Although it’s the mandate of government to protect and man security for the general public people at personal level should follow suit, ”he said.

Elly Tumwine appealed to the general public to take security seriously as we for Christmas festive and long holiday season.

He also pledged to engage other ministries, departments and agencies in unveiling security guidelines to guide the public as the country prepares for 2020 elections.

Tumwine says his ministry will soon launch electronic security guidelines and book to educate the general public on security matters.
