FDC Has To Know They Are No Longer Leaders Of Opposition- Munyagwa Says

Former Kawempe South member of Parliament Mubarak Munyagwa has come out to tell the FDC to come to terms with reality. He says FDC should know that they are nolonger leaders of opposition and move on.

Munyagwa’s comments come after a series of digs by FDC’s spokesperson Ibrahim Semujju Nganda aimed at NUP.

The Kiira Municipality accused NUP of hypocrisy after failing to rally behind him in the just concluded speaker of parliament elections.

Munyagwa added that even some NUP members have to acknowledge that they are now leaders and start serving people diligently.

“FDC has got to accept that they are no longer the leaders of opposition. Some NUP leaders also need to know they are leaders and stop with the drama.” Munyagwa said.

He made the comments while appearing on NBS TV’s political talk show ‘Barometer’.

On the same show, Nakawa East legislator and NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi questioned why FDC is pointing fingers at NUP for not supporting them in the parliamentary speakership race.

“Before NUP is blamed for not voting Ssemujju. He is the face of FDC and yet he didn’t get half of the votes in FDC. Did Kyagulanyi also tell them not to vote him?” Ssenyonyi questioned.

It should be remembered that Ssemujju got 15 votes in a parliament that has over 100 opposition MPs. Even his party the FDC has more than the number that voted him. This left people wondering why his own party members did not back him fully.
