First Of All, There Will Be NO LOCKDOWN – Museveni Assures Ugandans On Ebola

President Museveni has assured Ugandans that there won’t be any national lockdown because of Ebola. The President therefore appealed to the citizens to go ahead with their work normally.

He however urged the masses to be vigilant and observe the SOPs.

“Regarding the Ebola situation, first of all, there will be NO LOCKDOWN. Therefore, people should go ahead and concentrate on their work without worry.

However, we should be more vigilant and observe the SOPs put in place to control the Ebola spread,” communicated the President.

This comes at a time Ebola cases are seemingly on the rise. It has been reported that 7 districts so far have been engulfed by the deadly disease.

There have been constant rumors suggesting that there might be a national lockdown while other voices called for a lockdown on Kampala. However, this talk has all been shut down by the President something that many people wanted.

The disease which was first detected in Mubende last month saw the President institute a 21-day-lockdown on Mubende and Kasanda.

Those 21 days elapse today and it’s waited to see if the President will institute another lockdown on the two districts or if it will be lifted.
