Gen David Sejusa Pays Homage To Fallen Comrade Gen Elly Tumwine

Gen David Sejusa aka Tinyefuza has come out to pay homage to the late Gen Elly Tumwine. Sejusa through his Twitter page decided to eulogize his fellow bush war hero.

According to Gen Sejusa, the Ugandan flag does not fly because the wind moves it, it does so with every last breath of each soldier that died protecting it.

He concluded by praying for the Lord to comfort Tumwine’s remnants.

“Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it. May the Lord comfort Jolly, the children and the larger family. Rest in Peace Comrade,” said Gen Sejusa.

Talking further about Gen Elly Tumwine who was buried yesterday in his upcountry home in Mukuru, Rwemikoma Subcounty in Kazo District, Sejusa said that they were like brothers.

The late even visited him after his exile a few years ago and they hugged and cried together. This was after Sejusa’s self-exile alluding to the Muhoozi succession rumors.

Additionally, Sejusa said that Tumwine called him 3 months ago and was so happy about their pending retirement. Tumwine was listed as number one and Sejusa in number two among the officers to be retired.

“We have been together since. When I came from exile, he came to my home. As we hugged and cried! Then he rang me in May this year. It was about our impending retirement, where he was 1st on the list and I followed. He sounded full of life and he told me about his vision/plans during retirement,” Sejusa narrated.

Gen David Sejusa also added that people like Tumwine never die. This is because their deeds stay with the masses forever.

The duo was set to retire in June before the ceremony got postponed. This was due to the new structure of payment and benefits to the soldiers.
