The function happened at Kiyinda Mityana Cathedral and was attended by a number of dignitaries especially MPs and key opposition figures.
Among the key highlights is that Zaake reportedly threw away the Speaker of Parliament, Hon Anita Among’s wedding contribution of about Shs 10m.
Some of the other notable attendees included celebrities since Zaake has become friends with many of them. This is ever since he joined forces with Bobi Wine. All things were going well until the day for delivering speeches and gifts.
It was here that Zaake reportedly did the unthinkable. Ndorwa East MP, Hon Wilfred Niwagaba is said to have handed Zaake s gift of Shs 10m from Hon Among.
However, after being told that it was from Among, he angrily threw it away. He then said that he doesn’t need the speaker’s money.
“Mityana Municipality MP Zaake Francis rejects speaker Anitah Among’s 10m cash gift at his wedding. The furious focal MP threw the money on the floor as onlookers wonder in Mityana,” NTV Journalist John Cliff Wamala revealed on Twitter.
This prompted different reactions from social media users. Some commended Zaake’s reaction while others castigated him for his actions. They said that he could have rejected it more calmly.
It should be recalled that the pair are not the best of friends. These have actually clashed more than anyone else probably due to their rivaling political camps.
Zaake was impeached from his Commissioner of Parliament role after he hurled several insults towards Among through his Twitter page.
This was in retaliation for the Speaker mocking him for winning an athletic medal in the East African Parliamentary games. Among had wondered how someone who had claimed that his legs had been broken by government forces was able to achieve this.
