Hon. Timothy Batuwa Puts The Arising Hate Speech Among Ugandans On Leaders Overstaying In Power

Jinja City Division West MP, Timothy Batuwa, has put the rising hate speech among Ugandans on government overstaying in power.

He says people are simply tired of being under the same government for so long.

“I believe that the hate speech is arising out of the fact that the people in power have overstayed, not sectarianism. The public is reacting to the insensitivity of the government on a number of issues. People are in prison. Legislators are in prison. The public is fed up and showing its all to the government at any opportunity it gets,” he added.

Timothy Batuwa says the people are going through a lot and unfortunately all government programs are more theoretical than practical.

He gave an example of the Parish Development Model. He says if indeed it is for the people’s good, it should have started from Karamoja.

“When you go to the rural areas, almost everyone is vulnerable. UGX 7 million is little to be spread out per Parish. If the money is little, let’s start with Karamoja.”

When you go on social media, it’s evident that people are going through a lot of challenges. Of course, most of the blame is thrown at the government.

This is why every opportunity most people get to bash the government, they really do so without thinking twice. In fact this can be seen in the way people react when a government official passes on.
