I Have Been Paying More Allegiance To The Queen Than To President Of Uganda – Gawaya Tegulle

Veteran journalist, Gawaya Tegulle, has said he was paying more allegiance to the Queen of England than to the president of Uganda. He said this while eulogizing the Queen who passed yesterday at around 6:00 pm in England.

The English Monarch was apparently sick and it had gone on for long. Tegulle says Uganda would have made more progress if it had stayed under the Queen of England.

“I want to respect what the British did for this country, and I am saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. I have been paying more allegiance to the Queen than to the President of Uganda. I think we would have made more progress if we had stayed under the Queen of England. It is clear, that we got independence before we were ready for it.”

However, not so many members of the public loved this statement. In fact most of them were asking themselves why elites think the way they do.

“Why can’t you then leave Uganda & sign up as a British citizen? Truth is not everything is right with our country but independence which our forefathers fought for, nothing compares to it,” a one Mugisha Richard said.

“I disagree with Mr.@gawayategulle, the only problem is that we allowed foreigners to take charge in our country. Just look at the indigenous President the achievement done in small period of time,” a one Mubiru Shafic said.
