Is The Country Ready To Reopen After Lockdown?

Recently, the government plunged the country into a second lockdown after a rise in the Covid-19 infections. However, the 42 days of lockdown are soon ending.

With a few days left to beat the 42 days, everyone is anticipating how life is going to be with lockdown lifted.

The businesses that have been put on hold are now starting to pick up in anticipation of what will be when they start operating. However, are people ready to live according to the Ministry of Health SOPs?

The very first lockdown was effective until the country was opened. Citizens were living recklessly like the virus wasn’t there anymore.

The fact that we even had elections and campaigns during the same time, made things even worse. You could hardly find someone wearing a mask even amidst big crowds of people. Taxis that were carrying half numbers started carrying full capacity.

What is going to be different this time around?

How is the government going to make sure that people adhere to measures out in place? Clearly, all the strategies put in place the first time didn’t work. Unless government does something new, we are going to be moving in circles.

Currently, cases are increasing at a very slow rate, can we keep it that way even after reopening the economy?

The fact that a large number of the population is not even vaccinated means there is still trouble roaming around.

Whatever is going to be done, must be so good that we don’t have to ever go back in any other lockdown whatsoever. Otherwise, we will have wasted 42 days for nothing.
