Kabojja Junior School Raided Over Alleged Teaching

Police have recently raided Kabojja Junior School and arrested teachers over allegedly teaching students. This is reported as a violation of the presidential directive to close all learning institutions for 32 days.

The DPC of Kira Road Police Station, Michael Kasigire says police also raided Daffodils Primary school. They arrested teachers who were conducting illegal lessons which put the student’s health at a risk. Police are taking the students to the station in shifts where they will be under quarantine.

Many people took to social media to condemn this act and criticize the parents who let their children stay at school. One person said the parents who allowed their children to go to school should be punished.

The president recently suspended schools, religious, cultural and political gatherings for a whole month. Therefore finding schools that are still teaching their students is illegal.

‘’It is wise that we temporarily remove these concentration points to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. All these institutions, without exception, should close so that we deny this virus a high concentration. We don’t want the virus to find dry grass ready for ignition,’’ Mr. Museveni said.

Further action is unavailable currently but will be determined by police later on.
