Kenyan Rapper Chris Kantai Dies

One of Kenya’s veteran rappers, Chris Kantai died on Wednesday morning at St. Francis Hospital, according to one of his family members identified as Ms Thuku Wanjiku.

The late rapper was admitted at St. Francis Hospital in Nairobi since Monday where he was quickly taken after falling sick,’’said Ms Thuku.

Chris Kantai, 42, suffered breathing complications,’’she said.

The Huu Ni Nani G hitmaker and the father of one will be recalled for exciting Kenyans with his hit rap songs during his days including a popular song known as Happy which featured Kenya’s female rapper, Kimani Stella and seriously attracted public attention.

According to rumours, three years ago, Kantai denied allegations that he had hit the lowest possible level and his life became confused due to excessive alcohol consumption.

The rapper who reportedly took a break from music to deal with his personal businesses has been avoiding media to make proper clarification on the issue.
