Notorious Man Breaks Out From Police Custody After Splashing Bucket Of Urine On Officer

A Notorious prisoner in a Kenyan Police Station in Kakamega county, splashed a bucket of urine on a police officer on the eve of Christmas, liberating himself in the process. He fled leaving the cop struggling with the pungent smell of urine on his face.

Identified as Benjamin Maloba, the man ran away on the night of 24th-Dec perhaps to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with his friends.

How it all started

A Police report says the detainee was cleaning male cells when he requested an escort to a nearby pit latrine. Apparently, he wanted to go and empty the bucket full of urine.

“It was reported by Josephat Thuranira who was guarding a prisoner cleaning the station offices, that he was escorting one prisoner by the name of Benjamin Maloba to go and empty the bucket full of urine from the male cell to the outside pit latrine,” a police report read.

“The said prisoner splashed him on the face with the bucket contents and in split seconds managed to run away towards the nearby forest cover and disappeared.”

The “baptized” cop soon made whistle call alarms where other officers from the lines rushed to his help. He further explained what had happened.

The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) quickly dispatched a search team to try and pursue the escapee. Unfortunately, the man was physically unknown to the officers as he was in brought last.

Police had arrested the suspect on account of a warrant of arrest issued with reference CR 974/28/20, court file no.1449/20. The police are still searching in an effort to recapture him.

This incident comes barely a month after 10 prisoners escaped from lawful custody in Kilgoris police station, Narok County. The 10 were among the 12 who pushed cells door and overpowered the officer on duty and ran away. Police later re-arrested two of them.
