Obonyo collapsed and died minutes after completing the physical fitness exercise which took place at Boma Ground in Apac District.

Obonyo who was a resident of Aduku Sub-county was on Friday morning taken by his father Obaa Jasper Alex to be recruited by LDU.

He said his son was among the energetic recruits who were shortlisted for the initial physical exercise.

After completing the running exercise, he returned to the recruitment centre together with other recruits, but shockingly he collapsed and died without speaking a word,’the deceased’s father told media.

My son didn’t have any previous medical record of any disease,’he said.

However, Lt Kato Hassan of UPDF 5th Division said that no one died during the recruitment exercise. But his father insists that his son passed away during the fitness test exercise and the body was taken to Apac Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
