May You Get Healing From The Traumatic Effects Of Prison – Stella Nyanzi To Ssegirinya And Ssewanyana

Politician, poet, feminist and political activist Dr. Stella Nyanzi, has welcomed Hon Ssegirinya Muhammad and Hon Allan Ssewanyana from prison with a lovely encouraging message.

She prayed they get healing from the traumatic effects of prison where they have been for more than a year.

Hon Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana were arrested in 2021, claiming they were behind the massive machete killings in Masaka. These MPs were summoned through Parliament and later arrested.

For all the time they have been behind bars, they have complained about torture and sickness.

Although they were complaining publically, Prison Spokesperson has always addressed Ugandans saying that the two MPs are fine.

He added that they were getting good treatment from the hospital. Yesterday, these long-suffering Mps were granted a cash bail of UGX20 million each.

Stella Nyanzi being one of the people who have been in Ugandan prisons was quick to welcome them back to freedom.

The outspoken poet said it is now so hard for the opposition people to get bail from president Museveni’s prison. However, since they have become lucky they should celebrate.

“Welcome back from the ugly belly of dictator Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s unjust prison on trumped-up charges, Allan Ssewanyana Bwino and Ssegirinya Muhammad! Bail is now dangled before Uganda’s opposition members like the proverbial carrot or stick. May you get some healing from the traumatic effects of the last sixteen months in maximum security prison,” Dr. Stella Nyanzi said.
