More Journalists Taking Up Positions In The Political Spheres

Senior journalists are slowly fading away from the media and venturing more into politics. Just yesterday another senior journalist has joined a big political position.

NBS’ Joseph Sabiti was appointed the head of communication in the Deputy Speakers’ office. Obviously, this position can’t keep him on TV due to the ethics of media.

The question, therefore, is, is it easy to get into these political spaces through media?

Looking at the recent ones who have taken up jobs in the political spheres, their positions in the media have been paramount.

Sheila Nduhukire was too a very influential journalist before becoming the Public Relations Officer of National Medical Stores. Joyce Bagala and Joel Ssenyonyi are now members of parliament.

Otherwise, regardless of all the effects this may have on the media, it might be good news. This clearly shows that the influence of media and media personalities is clear.

Otherwise, they would never be considered for such positions if not for their capabilities. This however means that more great journalists should come up to fit in these shoes because they are big shoes.

Meanwhile, some people have started making stories out of these appointments. Since the political atmosphere, last year, people have been saying NBS is working together with NRM.

So the fact that all these appointments have NBS journalists involved is fishy to them. However, this aside, all the appointments have only capable people involved following their track of professional life.
