More Than 40 Ugandans Arrested For Smuggling Food To Kenya

The Security Task Force arrested more than 40 Ugandans for trying to smuggle food to its neighboring country Kenya, as a way of looking for survival during this lockdown period. Suspects were caught trying to break rules set forth by president Museveni.

The police and other security operatives arrested 8 Kenyans that were trying to penetrate into Uganda in this period of fighting the spread of Corona Virus. According to Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson told media in Kampala yesterday morning, Kenyans have been using Lake Victoria to cross to the pearl of Africa.

He however warned that Marine officers have been deployed to deal with them. In other arrests, two people were captured at L. Unyama while trying to enter Uganda from South Sudan though they heard about the President’s directives. Though the President closed all borders following the outbreak of Corona Virus in the country, many Ugandans have been arrested smuggling foreigners into the country using water means.
