MP Ssegirinya’s Mother Protests At Parliament

Mother to MP Ssegirinya this morning protested at the Parliament in regard to her son’s health. The mother while wailing said they have never given her a chance to meet her son since his detention in September.

There have been rumours about Ssegirinya’s health for such a long time to the point that many suspected he had died.

Ssegirinya’s mother today decided to go and storm Parliament in order to meet the Speaker. She was escorted by a few people, however, they kept calm even around the police.

The good thing is, this time around, the police was not tough but rather led Ssegirinya’s mother to reportedly meet the Speaker. By the end of the conversation.

Meanwhile, Ssegirinya has been in jail alongside MP Ssewanyana since September. They are facing very heavy charges of murder, attempted murder, and even terrorism.

These two have been in and out of court severally but nothing conclusive has been reached. Unfortunately, even when they were given bail by court, they were rearrested by police.

The President has been pushing a bill to Parliament to deny capital offenders bail until proven innocent.

Even at that time, Ssegirinya talked about getting access to better medication, they denied him that privilege. They only took him to the hospital after his health completely got worse. However, they limited visitors.
