Minister Musenero Misused Funds For Production Of Covid-19 Vaccine – MP Yona Musinguzi

Hon. Yona Musinguzi has accused Dr. Monica Musenero, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation of misusing funds for the production of Covid-19 vaccine.

The honorable pinned Musenero on using a non-registered Company PRESIDE to misappropriate tax payer’s money. The amount in question totals to Shs 31 billion. Apparently, they used this money under the pretense of producing a Covid-19 vaccine.

MP Musinguzi unveiled how some of the scientists have disowned having received facilitation to help them in the research and discovery of the Covid-19 vaccine.

He went ahead and provided documents pinning the minister on how she wrote to the Ministry of Finance directing it to halt the release of funds to the now-defunct Ministry of Science and Innovation. Musinguzi said she did this even before they appointed her a minister.

The 31 billion was allegedly advanced to her family members instead of the intended job. After this revelation from the MP, others refused to leave the August House until Musinguzi is given armed security. According to them, his life is now fragile because of this accusation against the Minister.

The Covid-19 vaccine talk has been long overdue because it’s coming to a year and some months since we first heard it. Looking at the President’s speech about the vaccine last year, by now, the country should have been enjoying the fruits of it.

However, if this accusation is true then something has to be done. Meanwhile, Parliament has already set up a committee to handle this matter.
