Museveni was the guest of honor and he wasted no time in thanking the speaker of parliament, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga for ensuring good organization in these celebrations.

The president added on and said that the bishop’s death opened the eyes of the people though he was ignorantly killed.

About making the day a public holiday, the president welcomed this idea saying his Government will look into it.
Then the president asked madam Kadaga to look for more tourism sites in the country so as to boost our tourism sector.

“Tourism brings in a lot of money for the government actually 3 times more than coffee” Museveni remarked.

It should be remembered that bishop James Hannigton was a missionary from England and the first bishop in East Africa before his death.
