Museveni Warns Public Against Unnecessary Riots

His excellence, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned the public against what he termed as unnecessary riots. He said this while addressing the nation on Sunday evening.

The bitter head of state who called the rioters hooligans asserted that the events that went down on November 18 and 19th 2020 will never happen again. He won’t let them.

Museveni also took that opportunity and confirmed that the government will compensate families that were affected by these events that is the riots. However this compensation will only be given to those who were victims of circumstances. Not those taking part in the riots.

This compensation will take effect after thorough investigation by the police to confirm which people need to be compensated.

The president used that time to tell the nation the current death toll registered during the strikes that happened in Kampala and nearby cities. He noted that the death toll is at 54. Of the 54, 32 were rioters who were in direct confrontation with the police.

The other 22 he said we hit by stray while some were knocked down because people were shooting at NRM cars.

Obviously this address would be incomplete without him talking about coronavirus. He advised his fellow politicians not to risk the lives of Ugandans by exposing them to the virus. Especially through the mass gatherings they hold while having their rallies.
