Hon Muwanga Kivumbi Expresses Displeasure In Mps Who Received 40 Million Shillings

The shadow Finance Minister Muwanga Kivumbi has expressed displeasure in NUP MPs who received 40 million shillings from Museveni.

According to him, it is very immoral and insensitive for any member of NUP to receive money from the ruling party or government.

“I was in a meeting where some MPs said they went somewhere and were given money. As a senior member of the National Unity Platform, I want to reiterate that it is immoral, and insensitive for any member to go anywhere to receive that money. They were told to take that money back to the giver.”

There have been reports of MPs receiving money since last week. However, it was not until this week that NUP ordered its legislators to return the money.

Some MPs admitted receiving the money. Bobi Wine advised his party members to return the money with immediate effect because its a trap. This money all seemed like a joke and till now some MPs have insisted that they got nothing.

However, Ofwono Opondo has said much as Muwanga Kivumbi is nailing the MPs who got the money, he also got the money.

“I know you (Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi) want to deny that you have received the money (UGX 40 million), but you won’t get away with this one.”

Amidst all this money saga, the only thing on people’s minds is how government can spend all this money in such an economic crisis.
