Why NCHE Closed Busoga University

The speaker of parliament of Uganda, Rebecca Kadaga met representatives of Busoga Bishops led by retired Dr. Kyomya Micheal to find a proper solution to improve Busoga University that was close by NCHE ( National Council For Higher Education ).

The meeting which took place in Speaker’s chambers endured for only two hours.

Nevertheless, reliable sources told Nile Post which focused on the improvement of the refurbished Busoga University and finding solutions to it’s challenges.

Even last year, National Council for Higher Education closed Busoga University because they wanted them to streamline the quality standards of Diploma and Degree programs.

Busoga University failed to meet requirements!

The University didn’t meet the minimum requirements to be able to offer degree courses like having enough lecturers who are qualified. This activity was opposed by the University which later sued NCHE and government, ‘’said the council.

Many who attended the meeting could not reveal details.

Rebecca Kadaga told the representatives of the University that she will do her best in her power just to make sure it re-opens.

The bishop of Busoga diocese, Namainhe Paul who was among the representatives refused to disclose any information.
