Nile Breweries Donates Food Worth Shs52 Million For Corona Intervention

Nile breweries limited has donated 25 tones of Maize meal worth shs52 million amid the Corona virus pandemic situation that has posed both health and economic challenges not only in Uganda but the world over.

NiLe breweries limited chief executive officer Thomas Kamphius while presenting the donation to health minister said the humble contribution was towards welfare of vulnerable Ugandans who as result of economic disruption caused by the pandemic are unable to cater for their feeding needs.

“Times such as these call for individuals, communities public and private sectors to rally together in efforts to fight the fast spreading disease and support each other. It shows the strength in community, “Thomas said.

” It’s therefore purpose of Nile breweries limited to bring people together for better world and remain as relevant as ever in these challenging times, “he added.

Thomas however stressed that 3000 bags of Maize will supplement central government efforts in food allocation while 1166  bags will be donated to the vulnerable communities in Buikwe and Mbarara districts where Nile breweries limited factories are located.

Kamphius emphasized that supporting communities especially at times as these is critical for all stakeholders as together we have a stake in our country.

He called upon other Ugandans to support initiatives by the government of Uganda to combat the spread of Corona virus pandemic and follow presidential directives issued.

Nile breweries also donated 1600 liters of local talk forced through resident district commissioners offices to facilitate movements of the district task forces.

Nile breweries joins consortium of companies under chief executive officers forum to support government efforts in this time and encourage Ugandans to practice safety and health precautions as advised by ministry of health.
