Paul Ssemwogerere Is Genuine Hero That Needs To Be Recognized – Lord Mayor

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, has said the late Dr. Paul Ssemwogerere is one of the most genuine heroes that should be recognized in this country.

Lukwago says he is still very inspired by the way Ssemwogerere always opted for peaceful means to fight for freedom. This is unlike so many others who according to him the gun can answer to everything.

“Dr. Paul Ssemwogerere should be on the list of heroes. The genuine heroes of this country. He is one person we should be celebrating every 9th of June. Unfortunately, we have Bush War heroes and NRM apologists; those are the ones recognized.”

“One thing that stands out in the career of Dr. Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere, is the way he pursued a non-violent struggle for the restoration of political sanity in this country,” he added.

This has come at a time when the Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, had said Ssemwogerere will surely be recognized as a hero next year. The veteran politician died on the 18th November. He was buried yesterday in the presence of all kinds of dignitaries.

Political activists  continuously said they have a lot to learn from the late especially his peaceful nature. In fact even the members of public urged politicians to pick a leaf from Ssemwogere.

According to them, politicians lately use more violence than reasoning which was the strength of Paul Ssemwogerere.
