Police Searching For Singer Pallaso Over Escaping From Lawful Custody

Police in Uganda have launched a man hunt for musician Pallaso whose real names are Mayanja Pius over charges of obstruction and escaping from lawful custody, spreading covid-19 negligently and inciting violence.

The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Mr Luke Owoyesigire said on Thursday morning at about 12:46am police in Makindye received a disturbing phone call from locals of Luwafu Zone that a disorganized group of people had gathered at Pallaso’s home.

Our teams arrived to the scene and found the allegations to be true, a group of over 30 people at Luwafu zone in the home of Mayanja Pius Aka Palaso had gathered, playing loud music, drinking and not following the safety guidelines issued by the ministry of health on curfew and public gatherings,” Owoyesigyire says.

The team commander however approached Pallaso and his group to reduce the volume of their loud music and reminded them of the coronavirus guidelines which doesn’t allow gathering similar to theirs. As they continued address them, the singer’s group became violent which prompted police to apprehend Pallaso and his brother identified as Kasozi Henry.

When Kasozi got arrested, Pallaso managed to take off with police Handcuffs on his hands and as we talk right now, police is searching for him on charges of obstruction and escaping from lawful custody.
