President Magufuli Talks With Diamond Platnumz On Phone, Fires Up The Crowd

Tanzanian artiste, Abdul Naseeb Juma known by his stage names Diamond Platnumz ended 2019 over the moon as he organized a productive ten years celebration in Tanzania’s music industry after he received a phone call from president Magufuli.

In a viral video shared on social media, Tanzania’s president John Pombe Magufuli phoned the publicity secretary Polepole Humphrey, before he handed over the phone to the ‘Tetema’ Hit maker who had just performed one of his best songs at the ceremony.

During the talk with president Magufuli over the phone, the performances were paused briefly as the singer’s manager Babu Tale quickly connected the president’s voice call on the sound system and fired up thousands of attendees.

“Tumsikize sasa,” pleaded Diamond amidst very loud and deep cheering of “Babu, Babu, Babu!”

“Tunakupenda sana,” he continued.

“Ata mimi ninakupenda sana,” Magufuli responded.

“Kwanza namshukuru sana huyu mpiga muziki Harmonize, kilichonifurahisha ni kuwa hata nywele zake zimefanana na suti yake, nikaona kumbe mambo yanawezekana na tai ikawa nyeusi, nikajua hawa matani zangu wa machinga (hawkers), ndo maana wanasema machinga kuchere, lakini nawashukuru sana kwa burudani nzuri,” Magufuli added.
