Prime Minister Nabbanja Warned To Back Off By Mafia

The newly appointed and energetic Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has run into her first huddle with the mafia in government.

According to her, a stranger has warned her through a member of her Kakumiro based family to ‘’back off our deals or face it.’’

Ms. Nabbanja didn’t mention details but the indefatigable Prime Minister, just days ago, rejected the supply of substandard blankets and beans. These were to be given to victims of resurgent floods in the Kasese District for relief

The Prime Minister has since rejected the explanation of her permanent secretary. She even asked the police and State House Anti-Corruption Unit to investigate the matter.

On Friday, Ms. Nabbanja revealed that a messenger she did not name, traveled from Kampala all the way to Kakumiro, her country home.

The messenger intended to deliver a warning message to the Prime Minister through one of her family members.

‘’If somebody can drive from Kampala up to my home area to look for my brother who is a town clerk in the village to ask him such a question, that means something is wrong,’’ she told the press on Friday.

She further said she would inform her boss, the Head of State because she said she cannot take this matter lightly.

Where do Nabbanja’s problems come from

Ms. Nabbanja, a climber within the ruling NRM party recently received elevation to Prime Minister ahead of several other senior cadres.

President Museveni reasoned that she would provide so much-needed answers to the persistent corruption in government.

She has, however, had her job clearly cut out, as warning bells have rung for her before she even makes the first step.
