The dead was identified as Kawooya Yasin.

The shooting took place in Arua Municipality ahead of a by-election which is expected to happen on Wednesday.

Robert Kyagulanyi on Monday sent a message on twitter saying that the police shot his driver thinking that they have shot at him.

West Nile Region Police Spokesperson, Angucia Josephine told journalists that it’s the truth, Kyagulanyi’s driver has been shot dead.

Josephine said they’re going to launch the investigations very soon to find out how and why the incident occurred.

However, the specific person who pulled the trigger has not been identified as yet and Bobi Wine himself has no proof to show that it’s the police that did it.

Several political leaders including the opposition were in Arua today to show love for their political parties, through campaigning for their candidates like Kassiano Wadri of FDC and Nusura Tiperu of NRM.
