Second COVID Wave, Museveni To address The Nation Today

President Museveni is scheduled to address the nation today about the second wave of COVID 19 in the country. He posted this on his Twitter confirming he will be on all the TV stations.

“I will address the nation tomorrow at 8:00pm regarding the COVID-19 situation. The address will be live on all Television and Radio stations. Ensure that you tune in.
Thank you.” Museveni’s tweet read.

It should be noted that the covid task office met on Thursday in the office of the president. Nothing has been said regarding what transpired in that meeting. However, Ugandans have been anticipating a lot of things pertaining this second wave. Most Ugandans are expecting a lockdown to be announced just as it was some months ago.

Some Ugandans have actually asked for this lockdown, according to them its the only thing that can save their lives.

“Finally! Bring back the lockdown 🙏🙏🙏 , please. We are not asking, we are demanding it. We don’t want to die of covid 19! I’m still young to die of Corona. Even if it means beating us and jailing us so that we follow that order, then do it” a one Grand Muller replied to Museveni’s tweet.

Of course, most Ugandans, especially business people have cried out to the government not to lockdown the country. This though is not for us to decide, a decision has already been taken and all fingers are crossed to know what the verdict is. Truth be told, people had stopped following the SOPs regarding Coronavirus but also another lockdown spells danger to the economy of the country.
