Shock As Patient Commits Suicide In Hospital Toilet

Muranga County Referral Hospital staff in Kenya were left in shock after a patient who is believed to be in his 40s completed his suicide mission in one of the hospital washrooms.

The male patient committed suicide early morning on Sunday just after a day of admission in the hospital ward where he was rushed after his suicide attempt with poison failed.

The man who comes from Kangema Constituency was on Friday evening rushed at Muranga general hospital where he was admitted after drinking poison at his home.

According to the medical superintendent at the hospital Dr Gikera Leonard, the deceased woke up very early in the morning and went to the toilet with a bed sheet.

The deceased’s body was found by other patients swinging loosely with bed sheet fastened on the showerhead to his neck inside the restroom,’said Dr Leonard.

Before committing suicide, he had received a better treatment and was recovering well from the consequences of the poison he had taken earlier. It’s therefore had for us to find out what exactly pushed him to commit suicide,’he added.
