Singer Hanson Baliruno Talks About Battling Severe Depression

Singer Hanson Baliruno has revealed some of the most difficult times in his life that sent him to depression. The singer revealed that he first went through this when he was in Europe.

The other time was during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Just like many others who were affected, the singer wasn’t spared. And this was largely due to the enclosed lifestyle and financial difficulties.

As a musician, he was used to moving up and down and entertaining people but this wasn’t the case anymore. His properties then started flying away slowly since he wasn’t getting any income.

At this moment, he got into an altercation with Urban TV presenter, Jommie Nankya. Nankya several times had attacked the singer saying his music is fake and pays media personalities to play his music.

The Kapyata singer on learning this called Nankya and threatened to harm her if she didn’t stop talking ill about him. Apparently, this was one of the times the singer was undergoing depression and the presenter was testing his mental stability.

“I have twice undergone depression, first in Europe but the time I felt it most was while in Uganda during the COVID-19 lockdown. Most of us thought the disease would come and go. As an artist, I was used to entertaining people and moving up and down. This was however no longer the case and my properties started falling away slowly. In all this mental breakdown, a certain TV presenter started climbing me at a time I was mentally down. That is how you hear that people have gone mad because some people can test you when you are mentally unstable,” the singer said.

Depression is one of the leading factors in destabilizing people’s lives.

This usually ends up in suicide and madness. Worst of all is that many people ignore depression thinking they will be fine. But before they know it, it has already taken a toll on them and can’t be reversed.

And since many lack a good support system, they end up doing the wrong choices. Depression doesn’t segregate as all kinds of people despite their statuses can get into it.
