The Situation In Uganda Is No longer About NRM And Opposition – Hon. Mwijukye Francis

Hon. Mwijukye Francis, the MP of Buhweju County has said the current situation in the country is no longer about NRM and Opposition but about the oppressor and the oppressed.

Mwijukye was expressing his dissatisfaction with the way the by-elections are being conducted.

“NRM has grabbed all the by-elections. We have been at war. The equipment that was taken to Kayunga was similar to the equipment that was being taken to Congo to fight ADF. These by-elections have been operations. NRM was trying to make a point in Soroti that they can change the blue to yellow, and they did it by treason and political rape.”

Mwijukye Francis says it is true indeed that the by-elections are always compromised because most of all the NRM candidates that win them, never win general elections.

“All those that win by force during the by-election never come back during the General Election. I am a fighter, I don’t win an election, I win a war.”

Due to this, he says people should throw off their party differences and focus on the common problem.

“This is not a matter of NRM and opposition. It’s a matter of the oppressed and the oppressors. The oppressed must stand together irrespective of their political parties. As long as we still have this junta, you can not think of a free and fair election. We must engage this dictatorship as Ugandans and tell them that enough is enough.”
