Stay Away From Politicians Who Oppose Government Initiatives – Anita Among

Rt. Hon. Speaker, Anita Among has advised the people of Teso sub-region to stay away from politicians who are always out to oppose government initiatives.

Among said this during a ceremony to ordain priests and deacons at Holy Family Parish, Gweri in Soroti Diocese. She urged the people to send to Parliament leaders who will best represent the interests of the people.

“Regardless of political affiliation, send to Parliament leaders who will best represent the interests of the people, not those that oppose every programme at every chance they get,” she said.

Among asked the religious leaders to use their position to encourage people to always take part in government programmes.

“You have the experience and power to work with everyone regardless of political affiliation. Use this to spread the news and importance of different government programs that benefit our people at the grassroots,” she said.

She also took the opportunity to campaign for the NRM candidate standing for the Soroti East MP position.

“It’s upon this background that I have decided to bring back your foot soldier Engoorit Herbert Ariko. He has been working in my office as executive secretary, back to you. He will be contesting in the Soroti City East by-election on NRM ticket,” said Among.
