Stroke Cases More In Woman Than Men – Study

According to research, stroke rate is quickly reducing in Men than in women these days. When there’s blood clot in your brain due to the effect from part of your brain, that is what we simply call Stroke.

This cerebrovascular disease which was reportedly dropped up to the 5th major cause of death in men , and it is still the 4th leading root-cause of death in women, according to a new survey conducted by a team of researchers from Baylor College of Medicine, Brown University University of Cincinnati and Indiana University.

During the study, the researchers looked at the data on 1.3 million contributors from 5 counties. The study which took a period of 15 years indicated that stroke rate in men reducing significantly while for women there wasn’t a statistical difference.

The stroke rate for men and women!

Their research found that woman were having an average age at 1st stroke of 72 while men were having an average age  at 1st stroke of 68. After regulating findings with United States Census data, the researchers discovered that general stroke rates for men moved from 263 strokes per 100,000 men at the beginning of the study to 192 per 100,000 at the final study. The brain attack rate for women moved from 217 strokes per 100,000 women to 198 per 100,000, though they were not statistically notable.

Dr Morgenstern Lewis from Michigan University said women and men have the same phenomenon experience and describes it differently, according to Daily Trust.

Women who are obese, smokers, those who use pills for family planning, those in their third trimester of pregnancy and mothers immediately after delivery are considered unsafe to the cerebrovascular accident.
