Two Mothers Kill Their Children In Cold Blood

Police in Buikwe and Luwero are investigating two separate gruesome murders by mentally ill mothers of their young children of two years.

Apparently, at around 7:00pm on September 6, 2021, a one Nakyanzi Rachael, 30 picked up her biological daughter and took her inside the house. She then got a knife and slit the young girl’s throat. The house belongs to the little girl’s grandmother.

The police spokesperson Fred Enanga says experts examined the suspect upon arrest. He said they found her to be on unsound mind and further transferred her to Butabika Hospital.

‘’And then on 10.09.2021, at around 6:00pm, police received a report where a one Yudayah, a 30-year-old, mentally ill mother, while at Bukolwa Gwafwa, Katikamu sub-county in Luwero, picked a hoe and cut her two year old daughter Winnie Mercy to the neck,’’ he said in a statement.

Fred Enanga further said the victim in the second murder bled to death. The police arrested the suspect soon afterwards.

‘’We continue to face murders arising out of mental disorders. Such murders are exacerbated by health and domestic challenges that need to be addressed. We should all remember that all children however young, have a right to life and well-being, which rights must be observed,’’ he added.

Police asked all citizens to call their toll free line 0800 199 195 of 0718 792 417. They should report all life threatening situations.
