Tanzanian Bans Diamond Platnumz And Rayvanny From Performing

One of Africa’s top best musician, Diamond Platnumz has been expelled from staging any concert in Tanzania.

The National Arts council of Tanzania, a regulatory board for promotion, revival and development of Arts in the country ( Basata ) said it made the decision simply because the singer had performed one of his songs which was banned a couple of weeks ago.

The artiste who popularized Tanzanian Hip Hop known as the ‘’Bongo Flava’’ reportedly performed a song called ‘’Mwanza’’ to huge crowds on Sunday during the festival in the city of Mwanza.

This song known as ‘’Mwanza’’ was banned by the government recently, it is a lyrics which contains a Swahiri word for ‘’Horny’’ and the authorities think the dance moves in this video are revealing an overt sexual interest or desire.

Diamond Platnumz and his fellow artiste known as Rayvanny who also features in the same song have been banned from performing outside the country, according to a statement from Basata.
